Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the VoteSutra website at votesutra.com and any data products or services made available by VoteSutra ("we", "us"). By using the site or purchasing a dataset you agree to these Terms.

VoteSutra is a political data and election intelligence platform. Our offering has two parts:

• Free platform data. Overall constituency caste demographics, election history from 2008 onwards including by-elections, and the top 10 strongest and weakest polling booths for every Assembly and Parliamentary constituency in India, published on our platform at no cost.
• Paid custom campaign intelligence. Complete booth-level caste mapping, swing and neutral booth identification, margin heatmaps, field strategy dossiers and other custom data products, provided on request to specific purchasers under a licence agreement.

Free platform data is provided as-is, for personal, journalistic or research use. Paid custom intelligence is provided under a per-engagement licence with the delivery format, refresh cadence and scope defined in the engagement scope agreed with the purchaser over WhatsApp.

Data supplied to a purchaser is licensed for that purchaser's own campaign, research or newsroom use only. The purchaser may not:

• Resell, sublicense or redistribute the data to a third party.
• Use the data to send unsolicited communications in violation of TRAI regulations or any other applicable law.
• Combine the data with unrelated personal data to build profiles beyond the licensed purpose.
• Represent VoteSutra as endorsing any candidate, campaign or party.

Violation of these restrictions is a material breach of these Terms and may result in termination of access and legal action.

VoteSutra does not publish fixed pricing on the site. Pricing for paid data products is quoted on request over WhatsApp at +91 9980058577, based on the scope of the constituency, the delivery format, and any custom research required. Payment terms, milestones and delivery are set out in the engagement scope agreed at the time.

VoteSutra compiles data from Election Commission of India returns, publicly available records, and primary field research. We take reasonable care in compiling and updating datasets, however:

• We do not warrant that any dataset is complete, current or error-free.
• Estimated fields, such as caste and community composition, are best-effort estimates based on multiple sources and are not exact enumerations.
• Users are responsible for their own decisions based on VoteSutra data.

VoteSutra is a neutral data platform. We work with candidates, campaigns, consultancies and newsrooms across parties. Our data must be treated as a neutral data source and not as an endorsement of any candidate or party.

The platform, its content, branding and code are the property of VoteSutra and its licensors. Compiled datasets, including analysis, methodology and presentation, are the copyright of VoteSutra. Underlying raw returns published by the Election Commission of India remain in the public domain.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VoteSutra is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive or special damages, or for any lost campaign outcome, loss of votes, loss of contract, loss of revenue or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to use of the platform or any dataset. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to a paid engagement is limited to the amount actually paid by the purchaser for that engagement in the preceding twelve months.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Material changes will be communicated on this page. Continued use of the platform after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
